Advanced Coronary Disease: Multivessel Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

Patient Profile: A 58-year-old construction worker presenting with increasing, severe chest pain (angina) on exertion. His condition was making his physically demanding job impossible and limiting his daily life.

Diagnosis: A cardiac catheterization revealed severe triple-vessel disease—significant blockages in all three main arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle.

The Intervention: Dr. Abdihaji performed a quadruple bypass (CABG x4). This procedure involved using harvested arteries and veins (grafts) to route blood flow around the blocked sections of the arteries, effectively creating new pathways for oxygen-rich blood to reach the heart muscle.

The Outcome: The surgery was highly successful. The patient’s angina was completely eliminated. Following an structured cardiac rehabilitation program, he was able to return to his job and now enjoys an active, symptom-free lifestyle.
